Heath Street Methodist Church
The Heath Street Methodist Church is the local establishment where we convene our musical rehearsal. Every Monday from 10:30 - 12:30
The church is located on Heath Street in Golborne (WA3 3AD). The church is a vibrant hub of the local community offering many aspects of support for the everyone.
Eclectic Musicians
Phoenix have no set musical philosophy or pre-determined musical genre. We are singers of various capabilities and backgrounds. We are made up predominantly of self taught amateurs, many who do not read music, with a common goal to enjoy the well-being benefits of singing together.
We are invited to perform at charity events within the local community to help raise money for their various causes.
Free and Easy
The ethos of singing for enjoyment hinges up on having the right man in the middle. The choice of music, the teaching methods to enable fun learning, the right balance of fun to learning in rehearsals, are all down to the enthusiasm and dedication of TONY HODGETTS who leads our rehearsals.
Most of our men do not read music and the process of learning new music is tailored accordingly to give all the help and guidance that is needed. Tony is a brass instrumentalist with over 50 years’ experience. Until recently Tony was the Deputy Musical Director of the LGN community choir, a post he held for over 7 years. He is amember of the second tenor section in the Rossendale Male Voice Choir where he is also a trustee.
